Цілі та задачі:

 

Практична:   удосконалити лексичні навички учнів з теми “Здоров’я”, активізувати лексику в мовленні учнів.

 

Навчальна:  Формувати навички діалогічного та монологічного мовлення в парній, груповій та індивідуальній роботі учнів.  

 

Розвиваюча:  Розвивати вміння учнів творчо використовувати засвоєний матеріал в нових ситуаціях спілкування, розвивати навички аудіювання.

 

Виховна:  Виховувати позитивне та дбайливе ставлення до життя та до свого здоров'я.

Початок уроку

    1.Привітання і повідомлення теми і мети уроку

Good morning, pupils! Glad to see you!

Thousands years ago ancient Greeks said:” The first wealth is Health. Health is the best Wealth”. These quotation will be like redline of today's lesson.

2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу
 Т.:-What should you do to be healthy?

Р.1-You have to organize your daily routines.

Р.2-You should to do your morning exercises every day or go in for sports.

 Р.3-You should to  keep clean yourself, brush your teeth every day.

Р.4-You should to eat healthy food regularly.

Р.5-You should to visit a doctor if you need.

We have three groups. The leader in the first group is ……….. Now, I’d like the leaders interviewing your groups and discuss the problem: “Is it difficult to follow healthy lifestyle?”

Ask such questions:

- Is it difficult or easy for you to get up early?

-Do you skip breakfast?

-Is your lifestyle regular or chaotic?

-Do you do your morning exercises?

You see that sometimes it’s difficult to follow healthy way of life. But don’t forget “Health is the Wealth”.

a) Pre-Listening;

-What do you do when you fell ill?

-What does the doctor do?

Before listening to the text pay attention at the following lexical units:

-to strip to the waist-роздягнути до пояса

-pneumonia-запалення легень

-investigation and сure-обстеження та лікування

-penicillin injections- уколи з пеніциліном

-mustard plasters- гірчичники

b) While-Listening

-Listen to the text attentively and be ready to do the tasks:

At the Doctor's

Is there anything more important than health? I don't think so. "Health is the greatest wealth," wise people say. You can't be good at your studies or work well when you are ill.

If you have a headache, heartache, toothache, backache, earache or bad pain in the stomach, if you complain of a sore throat or a bad cough, if you run a high temperature and have a bad cold in your head, or if you suffer from high or low blood pressure, I think you should consult a doctor. The doctor will examine your throat, feel your pulse, test your blood pressure, take your temperature, sound your heart and lungs, test your eyes, check your teeth or have your chest X-rayed.

After that he will prescribe some treatment, pills, tablets or some other medicine which we can buy at the chemist's. He will recommend you to stay in bed for some time, because there might be serious complications. The only thing you have to do is to follow his recommendations.

Speaking about doctors' recommendations, I can't help telling you one funny story.

An old gentleman came to see the doctor. The man was very ill. He complained of weakness, insomnia, memory loss and serious problems with his heart, lungs and liver. The doctor examined the patient and said that no medicine could cure his disease.

Do you want to know what the doctor's advice was?

He told his patient to go to a quiet place for a month and have a good rest. He also advised him to eat a lot of meat, drink two glasses of red wine every day and take long walks. In other words, the doctor recommended him to follow the rule: "Eat at pleasure, drink with measure and enjoy life as it is."

The doctor also said that if the man wanted to be well again, he shouldn't smoke more than one cigarette a day.

A month later the gentleman came into the doctor's office. He looked cheerful and happy. He thanked the doctor and said that he had never felt a healthier man.

"But you know, doctor," he said, "it's not easy to begin smoking at my age."

Use the lexical units. There are some extra words:

          A splitting headache, a terrible cough, a fever, felt very bad, to strip to the waist, felt her pulse, took the temperature, measured her blood pressure, examined her throat legs, pneumonia, flue, aspirin, penicillin injections, a gargle, a lotion, a cough-mixture, tablets, mustard plasters, hot-water bottle at the feet, X-ray and blood examination, in two weeks, in three weeks.

What symptoms had Mrs. Wilson?

How was Mrs. Wilson examined?

What was the diagnosis?

What treatment was prescribed to Mrs. Wilson?

What was the result of the treatment?

Робота в групах:

Скласти діалог, який розрізаний на стрічки. Команда, яка першою правильно складає діалог, зачитує його в голос за ролями.

 

Patient 1: Good morning, doctor! I haven't been feeling well lately and my wife suggested that I should visit you.

 

Doctor: What are the main symptoms that you suffer.

 

Patient 1: I have a frequent headache and fever. Also I often sneeze and cough these days.

 

Doctor: I see. I'll have to look at your throat and listen to your lungs. Come closer, please.

 

Patient 1: All right.

 

Doctor: Open your mouth. And now take off your shirt. According to what I see so far, you've got a bad cold. It's preferred to cancel work for a week or two and to stay in bed. It's also necessary to drink lots of hot tea or other liquids.

 

Patient 1: I have already cancelled work and am staying at home. I'll start drinking more hot tea or milk. It usually helps me. Are there any other prescriptions for my condition?

 

Doctor: Yes, there are. You will also need to buy some drugs which I'll prescribe. We have a small pharmacy downstairs, so you can buy the medicine there, if you want.

 

Patient 1: Thank you, doctor. That's very helpful.

 

Doctor: Oh, nearly forgot. Apart from hot tea and some drugs, you definitely need to buy some cough drops. You can choose the ones you like. They are with different flavors and rather helpful.

 

Patient 1: Thank you. I'll do that.

 

Doctor: I will appoint our next meeting on Friday. That means I will see you in 4 days. I will have to see how are you feeling after the prescribed medicine.

 

Patient 1: Ok. I'll see you on Friday, then.

 

Doctor: Good-bye, Mr. Matts. Take care.

 

Робота в парах:

Учні складають діалоги за складеним зразком, але менші.

Робота в групах:

Учням роздаються малюнки. Їм необхідно вирішити, яку першу допомогу необхідно надати хворим на малюнках.
